During the coming 12 months, four politicians will be appointed as leaders of the European Union. For fifty years now, the picture of European political leadership has remained the same. It is time for a change. International top posts should always go to the most competent candidate. There are 250 million women in Europe; it should not be too hard to find qualified candidates among all these.
If you wish to see at least one female appointed as leader of the European Union, sign the petition from social democratic Member of the European Parliament, Christel Schaldemose!

Scientific research has become so important in various aspects of our lives: environment, health, technology, social issues but also in the economy, as Europe is becoming a "Knowledge Based Economy". It is thus important that young European citizens chose scientific careers and ensure that all these challenges are dealt with.
The European Commission is promoting scientific research careers through the Marie Curie Actions, which are a kind of Erasmus programme for scientists.
They came up with a new promotional video which is quite amazing!
Enjoy

This is a great video about a really important issue - THE racism now being peddled by the far right is anti-Muslim - trying to create fear about and hatred towards Muslim communities. We must expose and oppose any 'clash of civilisations'. Of course there are genuine issues about integration which we should address in a spirit of respect and tolerance - but we must say a very clear no to anti-muslim rhetoric.

The Yourspace team has recieved this link from a user, Frederic Vareillas:
L'auteur voit, à travers les suggestions d'un groupe de hauts gradés militaires, se profiler le spectre d'un empire américain aussi puissant qu'autiste face aux réalités géopolitiques modernes.
Retrouvez ici le début de l'analyse de Claude Nicolet d'un rapport de sommités militaires sur l'avenir des politiques de défense du monde occidental.
